Resonate HQ, Inc

In 2023, my long time friend and colleague David Farr and I founded Resonate HQ , to build Distributed Async Await, a programming model that turns the hardest part of distributed applications into dead simple code.

That's why Resonate's mascot is a skeleton. Because Distributed Async Await is dead simple.

Books

Think Distributed Systems Book Cover

Systems Engineering for Agentic Applications

Today's AI frameworks excel at building prototypes. But when autonomous agents need to run reliably and continuously in production, developers are on their own.

This book bridges the critical gap between prototype and production. While many resources focus on building chatbots or automating simple tasks, this book tackles the hard problems that emerge when agents must operate autonomously and continuously at scale.

Think Distributed Systems Book Cover

Think Distributed Systems

Distributed systems are complex—but they’re also everywhere in modern software. A fuzzy understanding of how distributed systems work is no longer an option.

Think Distributed Systems helps you develop clear and dependable mental models of distributed systems, so you can reason about complex problems with confidence. You’ll be able to reason confidently about your systems, and ensure they’re functional, scalable, and always reliable.

Building a Distributed Protocol

Distributed protocols are the foundation of scalable and reliable systems — yet we often get lost in implementation details instead of grounding our designs in systems thinking. This talk offers a different path: we’ll explore how a small set of simple, well-crafted abstractions gives rise to complex, distributed systems.
